I've just put together a HTPC with an EVGA 650i Ultra that had been gathering gust for a few years, and I've forgotten what a piece of junk it was - USB ports don't turn back on after sleep mode, SmartFan runs the CPU cooler at 100% at all times, USB booting is a nightmare, etc.

What's the best mobo that can take an E6750? I won't be overclocking - features and stability are all I need. It'd be nice if it was also DDR2, but I'm prepared to change the RAM if necessary.

Edit: And the case can take ATX mobos without a problem.

For S775 the P5Q series are generally regarded as the best there was. P5Q deluxe was the board I has and was a very very nice board.

Agreed. Asus P5Q deluxe is regarded as the best 775 board followed closely by Gigabyte GA EP45-UD3P.

These two are the best 775 boards

Asus P5K?

Had one for 5+ years, never missed a beat.

Not giving mine up either, it's overclocked the following cpus in her lifetime 2xe6400, e6420,e5200,2xq9550.... Sadly as of today it's been demoted to living the last of her days as my backup server.... Hoping she'll serve another 5 years

Only winge is the pci-e 1.1 and because of that I'll give the crown to the p5q delux

Yeah I had a Abit ip35 pro for 3-4 yrs and it is the best board Ive ever owned aswel. But saying that this Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 board I have now isnt too bad as it rarely throws its toys out of the pram.

Another vote for the P5Q Deluxe, still going strong here! Cracking board.
