I have a media PC in the lounge which I watch films on through the TV. It’s a HP slim line PC like the ones you get in an office.

Was thinking with a bit of upgrading I could turn it into a little gaming machine to play some controller based games like Assassin’s Creed & Batman.

The current spec is:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33 GHz
4GB DDR 2
2TB WD Green
ATI Radeon HD 4550 512MB DDR3 Core 600 MHz Memory 750 MHz
240w PSU

I was thinking if I drop a low profile Sapphire 7750 1GB (see below) into it. Do you think it will be able to run these games on high settings? My TV is 51" obviously at 1080p.

Would I be better off changing the CPU as well to a E8400/500/600 or a Q6600? or what that be too much for the PSU?

I will most likely drop an SSD into it too and just have my Steam account and OS on there with 2 or 3 games on it.

Wouldn't recommend going for a 1gb Graphics card, would be better going for a min of 2gb. Go for a 7850 and if you can give a budget, we can spec a new machine for you.

There is plenty of choice, just need to know your budget.

Give us your budget and we'll spec a system,

I didnt really plan on building a new system more of a case of just given the current one a bit more omphhh, I have a gaming PC in my room (see sig) was just going to use this for a few pad based games!

The card i specced is the best low profile card you can get so thought it was worth a go especially as i can get it for $110 AUD.

I would have thought this card would be ideal for playing on your TV, as it is a lower resolution.

i'd have to recommend that one aswell, i have the 2gb version and its a great card

The PC is a slimline computer so I can only get a low profile card in it.

So that won't fit.

The question was more around could the 7750 run those style games ok? And would my CPU bottle neck it?
