In the box where you write your post, press Go Advanced. You get a bigger box, underneath you will see some Icons, it says Post Icons.
It`s not really a thank you, but it is a Thumbs Up.

Thanks again for everybody's advice on the upgrade. You were right, a massive improvement. Next upgrade time. SSD and perhaps a graphics card. SSD is now the priority.

So what to go for and what size?

The board has mSata, do I go down that route or ignore it and use something like http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-027-IN

Theres 3 main SSD's we like to use

The Intel, Plextor and Samsung ones. You'd plug it direct into the SATA ports though, no need to use the mSATA.

So n fairness the Intel 330 Series 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive that I linked above is actually a very good price for read/write speeds.

Could anybody tell me what the difference is between all the various AMD 7850's?
And there isn't a comparable nVidia card for the same price? (I've always used nVidia and like them, never had AMD)

potentially I'll be looking at:

Intel 330 Series 120GB
HIS HD 7850 IceQ X 2048MB

I would go for the GB over the HIS.

The 660 is comparable to the 7850
660TI ti the 7870
670 to the 7950.

So all the same cards just different manufacturers?

If I use the SSD for my main OS (which would be the reason to have it :rolleyes:

) Is it possible to clone my existing system over?
