Edit: Upon further inspection it says 'cookies' on the box which I can only surmise is the companies way of fobbing off horse burgers on unwitting customers.

A lot of people get round this by removing the riving knife completely. (bad idea)
Watch what can happen If you do remove the riving knife.

I have seen that before . The guy was a bit silly doing that. the sled should stop the wood kicking back, but I still wouldn't use it without one.

On my portable one you can set the riving knife above the blade for through cuts or slightly below for non-through cuts. Doesn't look possible on the Dewalt but I expect it came with another knife you can swap out.

Yeah unfortunately you cant on mine. I think its probably just the UK model as you aren't supposed to remove the guard at all in the UK. On the US model (type 2 and 3) the guard can be set to different depths.

I should have imported one really, but I hate having to cart transformers about with me.

I'll have to see if there is any way around it, maybe modding a spare riving knife by cutting it down to size? Or maybe another knife will fit, i'll have to look into it.

Those are some nice purchases! I just got a Nexus 7 and the car holder looks pretty good. How does it attach to the dashboard and do you know if it will work with a Vauxhall Vectra?

Brodit mounts work differently for every car, you buy them in two parts, one designed for the specific car and the other for device.
