I am led to believe my friend a German/American citizen is detained in Germany for some months now. What would be the best way to contact him as i only have his name and age ? I have contacted the German consulate but still not received a message back. Could anyone shed some light on the best way to find him ?

Thanks

Access the Bundeskriminalamt's database.

But i dont really like "i am led to believe", i was led to believe in jesus, santa, the tooth fairy and being nice to people..

He is your friend and you only know his name and age? What is he detained for, why has he not been sentenced (charged etc)?

You will need to find out which State he is detained in and then contact the relevant regional court. If he is an American Citizen then contact the United Stares Embassy in Germany (via the UK one if you want), if an American Citizen is being detained then they will have been informed.

Go to Germany and get arrested for a relatively minor crime (e.g. stealing a bratwurst). When you get to prison ask your fellow inmates if they recall seeing or raping your friend. If not, once your relatively short sentence is completed, move to another area of Germany and start the process again until you find him.

I've included a handy link to all the prisons in Germany so you know which ones you've been to. I recommend making a spreadsheet of all the prisons, and update it by ticking off the ones you have been incarcerated in so you don't accidently visit the same one twice.

This realistically seems like the best option.
