Looking for a pair, good quality nice stand etc whole shebang. Astro A50s look nice but a few people have said they suck.

Main reason I'm looking is my mobo (Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H, VIA Audio) doesn't seem to output stereo from my front port unless I make it so my headphone port is independent from my speakers (which are 5.1). Getting a bit tired of fiddling with my settings every time I want to switch from headphones to speakers so figured I'd get a pair of 5.1 headphones and they might as well be a decent pair.

Discuss please. :)

Don't really mind, anything up to £250-300 MAX if it's worth it. However the cheaper/better value for money, the better. I'd prefer to spend around £100-150. But if you show me something amazing I'll consider it! Just looking around really wondering what's out there.

The sony pulse headset has virtual 7.1 and is available for £99 online. If you don't mind the tiny playstation branding on the earcups then it looks like a good buy.

They work just by inserting a usb dongle into one of your usb ports and they have a hidden mic in one of the earcups.

Hm they're virtual though, looking for true surround rather than virtual.

Also as my speakers are 5.1 was hoping for 5.1 headphones so I wouldn't have to go through the hassle I have now of changing my audio settings all the time!

Nobody? :(

Thinking of gettting a Sound Blaster Z card to go with it, easily plug my 5.1 speakers and headset out the back to make life easy? OEM is pretty cheap so looks like a good deal? Just need me some decent 5.1 headphones and good to go!

I also wouldn't mind some wired options, seriously leaning towards getting a pair of Astro A40s!

Alright guys my Sound Blaster Z came today, very nice card it's definitely a great improvement over mobo sound.

Now I'm thinking of doing some crazy rerouting. I've seen something similar to this but don't know if it's real or not (in the sense it will output true 5.1)

Now I'm thinking I can do optical out from my PC -> optical cable splitter so one cable to this box to my 5.1 speakers and the other to my 5.1 headphones (if I ever get any)...and then TV/HD box optical out to this box as well.

Am I crazy? Will this work? Anybody have ANY idea about good 5.1 headphones? Thanks :D
