Top 10 worst console ports of all time.

I think the FC3 menus deserve an honourable mention

Was gonna say, saw the 1 vote for it on the list and was like (wait, we got Direct X 11 support and it plays well, how the hell did that get a vote!?!?!? :p )

Worse day 1 port I played was Mercenaries 2: World In Flames. Water shaders on high killed performance, no AA and max 720p. Think patches improved it, but was too little too late in my book.

I remember Rainbow 6 Vegas as being particularly bad. The frame rate would just dip for the laugh.

Exactly. It ran badly on consoles. The PC version actually performs better on a similarly spec'd machine on the same settings as consoles.

Yeah, GTAIV ran like a dog on my PS3, I've recently ran GTAIV on my 7970m laptop and it runs really well and modded looks VERY nice.

Agreed, it seems a badly coded game.

LA Noire is another one, I never could get that running smoothly, stuttering mess.

Skyrim was a stutter bug until I tweaked around with Radeon Pro etc.. Runs smooth as silk now.

Dirt 1 for Pc. Some reason it simply won't work on windows 8

There was an xml file for dual and quad core CPU that needed to be changed to get Dirt 1 to run, I had the same issue on windows 7, that game is VERY CPU dependent. The better your CPU the better that game runs.

My old Q6600 with a 5870 stuggled at times, yet my Dell Studio with a i5 540m and weaker 5650m seemed about on par, yet my M17x with a i7 and 7970m totally destroys dirt 1 yet doesn't even tax my GPU.. Hmmm

Flatout: ultimate carnage. Not because it ran badly, smooth as you like as it wasn't very demanding.
But the menu had xbox controller buttons on it regardless of if you had one plugged in or not.

Annoyed me more than it should have.

EDIT: Woah no, the award for worst ever port does go to GTA IV...

"-norestrictions". Sorted.

Aside from being a terrible port, GTA IV also had some of the worst DRM in recent times.

Agreed. Bought it very shortly after It came out and took far far longer than it should have to get installed and running. Couldn't believe it myself with GFWL and Rockstar social club, updates, everything!

"-norestrictions". Sorted.

Legend! :D

I honestly don't think GTA IV is a badly coded game, it has a lot of DRM issues, and silly little things like what I posed earlier yeah but it runs very smooth.

Easily playable and looks amazing - one of the best looking games IMO (with the mods of course)
