OC UK 10.1 Ultima Root

Can someone please point me in the right direction for the firmware to root my OCUK 10.1 Ultima, I have read the relevant forum and Gibbo says he has the factory root, how do I ask him (nicely) if I can have a copy. I also need the relevant utility to flash of course ;-)

I am trying to develop an app and need full root access.

Basically follow the instructions there, then google and install "root many android by bin4ry"

I've not tried it myself but you might wish to give it a go.

Thanks for the info, it was interesting to read. Unfortunately it doesn't solve my problem as I need root access. I will have to wait for Gibbo to get back to the office.

You want to root the device you mean? Once you get USB debugging to work you should just need to run that rooting program.

Yes that's exactly right, but do I need the image of the rrot rom to flash onto the Ultima? I am unaware of any way to root the device without the image. If I am missing something can you please explain.

You might need to if the firmware is locked, but I'm almost postive it isn't. A auto-rooting program should work just fine once you have the USB debugging enabled.

Well I managed to Root it, (ooer missus), but as I suspected the programing API range isn't available.

If anyone else wants to root, then I can explain the whole process.

The main difficulty I had was 1) Getting it into restore mode, 2) Obtaining the correct USB Driver (the RO366 ones DO NOT work),it needs a RK30SDK driver, 3) I used Dashi and it's in chinese !

Anyway got it Rooted and that's the important thing. Thanks for the help.
