Was I dreaming when I saw two oceans meet and a line is formed?

I think its called halocline?

Happens in Mexico cenotes where fresh and salt water meet, I saw some crazy effect in the water when I was snorkelling in a cenote. It was awesome everything goes blurry.

I saw two currents meeting in Indonesia when out diving. It was terrifying, extreme current diving is not for the feint hearted - you know it's hardcore when you have grappling hooks on the sea bed and are swimming as hard as possible to not be dragged out down an abyss

Yikes!

The line was straight...I saw it in a Documentary... Wish I could remember which one

Something to do with plates and temperature of the two oceans meeting....

There's one at Tarifa in Spain where the Med and Atlantic meet (got a picture somewhere) and another somewhere near the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa where the Indian and Atlantic meet (although that ones not as neat as the pics above).

There was a bit on Africa last night where sardines were swimming away from predators and suddenly came to a wall of water that they don't cross so becoming an easy meal for predators.
