What MMORPG to start a fresh for 2013?

another vote for the secret world, the only mmo id compare it to is ffxi in the sense it has cut scenes, storylines and you can unlock everything with 1 character. its also interesting enough to be played as a single player rpg as well as mmorpg.(finding it more fun than skyrim even when solo!) end game is lacking a bit but theres so much quests and acheivements to accomplish im not that bothered!
FFXIV:A Realm Reborn
It'll likely arrive sometime between spring and summer. It's still going through the beta stages. So much work has gone into it but it doesn't get the attention because of FFXIV's terrible state of release.
ARR is the complete remake of the initial FFXIV game. I played FFXIV to the end of its life and was part of the new ARR alpha test. It's going to be great IMO. I'm not the only one saying it either.
So if you don't know about it, it's definitely one to keep an eye open for

Haven't bothered with any of the current MMO's, I'm sure the likes of LoL/GW2/Rift etc are all good, but personally I just struggle to get into them.
I'm hoping Elder Scrolls online should change that, under the condition that it manages to get a decent player base upon launch that doesn't die out within weeks, and that the game comes close to living up to the hype.
Either way it will probably be enjoyable to play an MMORPG with a lore that I am already familiar with due to Elder Scrolls.

To be honest, I've gone completely off MMO's, and I've played a ton of them.
Started MOBA's (DOTA2 specifically) and found it to be awesome fun! League of Legends & Heroes of Newerth are also contenders, though, Dota2 is the better of the 3 as it apparently has Icefrog working for Valve (large Dota contributor I think).
It does have a large learning curve, and I'm always learning things, but once you have played 5-6 games and get your first kill, you get the kick.

You must be tired of MMos - give the secret world a try because I just got it and it isn't an mmo at all it just gives you a great single player adventure with a nice creepy atmosphere kinda like silent hill but more expansive. Only on hold due to ni no kuni.

Is LOTRO worth to play now? Never played this game before and looking for some time killing game. Preferably free to play
