Home Router Question : Keywords to block film and TV streaming websites

Hi there,

I'd like to be able to limit access to streaming film and tv sites on my home broadband connection. Unfortunately I only get a paltry 3 mb, and it only takes one person to be streaming films or TV to render the connection unusable to others.

My Netgear DGN1000 router offers the facility to block access to sites based on keywords.

Does anyone know common words which appear in URL formations for such streaming media.

Blocking any site which contained film or TV would achieve my objective, however as I'm only wanting to limit access to streaming content, it would be a little too extreme.

wouldn't you be able to get round that by using a fixed ip and 'another' dns server on the pc....

It's easy to bypass all forms of blocking. It depends on how technical the person is.
