Hi guys,
As some of you may know i ordered a B Grade Sapphire 7970 OC a few days ago and it arrived today.
Just finished installing the card, latest drivers (13.1) installed Msi afterburner and flicked the bios switch over to the second profile of the card.
Checked afterburner for correct clocks and i see this..

Everything seems fine to me, good temps, clocks are correc for the second profile, only problem is it's showing as a MSI LIGHTNING BE?
Also seems the voltage is locked too when i thought the cards should be unlocked?
Anyone able to shed some light on this for me?
Only thing i can think of is that the card has previously been flashed perhaps?
Anyway to flash it back to original?
Thanks for any help.

If it has dual BIOS maybe flip it to the other position and see what AB shows. Does look like someone has flashed it, or perhaps it's just an Afterburner bug
e: opps reading fail.

I'd test it out for an extended period (NOT Furmark, but games) and make sure all is well. Remember the limited warranty with B grades...

It's a fault within afterburner, it defaults the new ghz chips as a lightning boost edition, unwinder mentioned it a few weeks back. You may not get voltage control until you delete the msi profile file.

Search my post history for threads started by me, I did post up a link of unwinders instructions.

Ah, good to know. Also explains why i couldn't change the voltage when I last tried when I've been able to in the past.

Try searching your system for it as I'm not sure what directory it's in. It could be in an app data folder rather then the msi route folder.

All else fails I'll have a look for it tonight.

Renaming MSIAfterburner.oem and restarting Afterburner returns me to AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series rather than the lightening. Not tried my volts yet.

Depends on cooling, airflow etc...the ghz cards run at stock 1.256v so you should be safe heading towards 1.3v just keep a close eye on temps.

Reading as 7900 sounds about right afaik ab will only give names for an msi bios.

Glad someone has finally tried other and it worked :)

Max temps so far are around 62c which is great, just managed to get through 3dmark11 @ 1250 core and 1650 mem :) testing on games now.
Absolutely love this card!
