Brought back some memories....

http://creativebits.org/webdev/15_years_apples_homepage

Having only recently been using Apple products more and more I remember the early home pages when I first started downloading Quicktime etc.

I never really liked the coloured iMac, probably because I was a serious PC user and I thought it was mocking my tech with its girly colours!

It's funny how they launch their "Macs are cool, PCs are for boring office stuff" campaign right after bragging about having Office 2004 on the Mac. Didn't think Apple wanted boring spreadsheet programs from a boring company like Microsoft on their super cool Macs?

I didn't realise how quickly they nailed their page design. Only really one dramatic change from the first version..

"Macs are friendly to the technically challenged like me"

Oh lawd, that's as close as you can get to "Fisher Price My First Computer" without actually saying it.

Time it takes to write a shell script on OSX vs time it takes to write some kind of script that resembles something in Windows...

UNIX underpinnings v DOS underpinnings, Fisher Price my foot.

LOL TELL ME THE ONE ABOUT FISHER PRICE AGAIN

Here you go

What are you taking about? When did I mention DOS, Windows, or Unix and how is it relevant to an advertisement Apple actually used on their site?

One naturally assumes that if you're ripping on Macs, that you're a PC fanboy.

Stop trying to get away from the fact you got called out for doing the usual drive by Mac bashing.

Spent far too much time reading the Images of things you've purchased thread, and also have a Mac Mini.

PC used for gaming, Mac used for work/productivity stuff. If anything, you could say the PC is the Fisher Price machine as that's used for fun.

:p

Anyway, back on topic... 15 years of Apple's homepage....

Oh god bring on the ha...oh wait its started already.
What tragic events are referred to on Slide 25?
