I am 36 year's old and have been playing games of one sort or another since my dad came home with a machine that played pong and the likes. When I was young and before consoles I used to play little hand held games like mini munch man ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EfVk4aBUp0 ) and moved onto astro wars etc ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woIvOSliMlE ). Then I started playing games in the local chip shop like wonder boy ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bvim7O9RvK0 ) and moving on to game like golden axe and street fighter..
I have played games pretty much since I was about 6-7 years old and don't really see a stage at this point where I will grow out of them.
When I think, I could go see a film at the cinema with a load of randoms for £10-£15 or **** out and watch eastenders etc, there is really no contest when compared to playing some BF3 with a few mates and having a few beers and a laugh.
I know I am probably preaching to the choir so to speak as I'm posting this in the pc gaming section, but I really do feel there is some sort of social stigma when someone of my age mentions that they are a p.c gamer..
So my question is, at what age do you think you should have grown out of gaming?
Personally, I am enjoying gaming more and more and am excited about what the future holds. If you gave me a choice of having a p.c to game on or a T.V to watch eastenders etc, I would choose the p.c every time.
I can honestly say that I expect to be a gamer for the rest of my life.
