At what age are you too old to game?

I don't think you should ever grow out of gaming if you still enjoy it. Heck, things come along in life that might become more important or a distraction but the choice is there to always go back. Everyone needs a escape from IRL from time to time whether it be Eastenders (please god no) or strapping C4 to the front of a jeep and going full Jihad on some AA whoring bitches! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joX3TCVsxYA

You are never too old to game. It's that simple.

It shouldn't really be a question, anyone who thinks there is an age limit on gaming is pretty much an idiot.

I'm 42 and still love to game. Sometimes I get a bit bored of it (not a lot of originality anymore) but I never have a break for more than a couple of weeks. There are lots of games out these days aimed specifically at adults so obviously the devs and publishers don't see people getting 'too old'.
My Dad is 73 and plays WoW - he used to play a lot of RTS's but can't handle them now.

Age means nothing. There is no need to feel awkward about anything due to how old you are. I realised this due to two factors in my life. Entering into a relationship with my gf being 14 years younger than me (Im in my 30s, she 20s), and a friend a couple of years younger than me dying of skin cancer. Age is but a number. Health and happiness are the two important factors in life. If feeling awkward about your age stops you doing something then you are wrong.

Long story short. Do what makes you happy despite your age. I'll be a gamer until the day I die, hopefully when I'm an old git. I love my hobby, and there is no reason to change it. Not that anyone close to me expects me to.

I'm by no means old at 25, but I do find that I am finding games more boring these days than in my teens. Either it is because I am just getting older and finding the novelty wears off more quickly, or that games are just not as enjoyable for me as they used to be, simply because they seem to be recycling the same thing over. Really what I mean is (and I mean no disrespect to anybody who enjoys today's games) with the exception of Skyrim and Deus Ex:HR, I haven't seen too many games try hard to change things up to keep interested.

Your never too old to game.

Ignore the labels that society puts onto things.

Your never too old to do anything, if you came on here and said "i'm 60 and still game" i wouldn't have raised an eyebrow.

If you enjoy it, keeping doing it!

Never too old (41) I game more now than I ever did actually, I didn't game much in my 20s was out at Rave's and clubs caning it and getting s'faced. Got back into it mid 30s when they started trying to kill pubs off (pretty close to succeeding IMO).

To me, far better entertainment found in gaming than TV, and gaming without question is far better now than the misty eyed past of the old Atari, C64 and Speccy days we remember.

Ignore the conventional fools who label everyone and everything, they're the sheeple, they're the morons who can't think for themselves and spend their lives terrified of what others might think, they're the idiots watching adverts for garbage all night.... - as Mark Corrigan would say (rare bit of quality TV) 'I know whose winning!'.

Pretty good evidence about that gaming is actually good for you, certainly doesn't hurt your hand eye co-ordination or memory.

Nothing wrong with a bit of gaming whatever age you are.

Go on Hilda. 86 and smashing it up on what looks like GTA4 "get out my way" :D

I wish my grandmas would try and use a console or PC. One of my grandads did you internet, ebay etc when he was alive but the other one never really used computers at all. He did love Hi-Fi equipment and researching TVs and technology like that in general. I feel he was born in the wrong generation really

Oh - 28 and still gaming (since 7 when I got my Amiga 500 for my birthday) - Starcraft 2 generally but recently I have been modding Doom 3 and GTA4. I like the challenge of trying to make something work and researching what is the best - the end product isn't always as fun

I'm 35 and have been gaming since owning the original NES with Duck Hunt :D.

I've not owned a console since I got introduced to UT99 in 1999 at which point I was converted to PC gaming and haven't looked back since.

I too will be a gamer for life but I fear that I may have to convert back to console gaming in the coming years as PC gaming seems to be on a bit of downward trend.

I must add though that I'm not a hardcore gamer so I'm probably not the best informed to be judging as I don't read reviews or follow the 'scene' because as I've got older I just don't care. I just buy stuff when its on offer and play around 4-5 hrs per week.
