I'm pretty sure there is a DPD guy on the forums, so hoping he'll see this but others might know too! We paid extra to have a parcel delivered today, but the tracking info still states "Shipment details received, awaiting receipt of the parcel". Granted, that means that the supplier hasn't given DPD the parcel yet, but its in Manchester.

I don't mind if the parcel doesn't come today (I would have course ask for a refund of the delivery cost), but just wanting to know if its likely to turn up. It's ~3-4 hours away and still not on the van yet, how late do DPD deliver?

If DPD haven't got the parcel then it is unlikely to come today. I've have deliveries up to 6 pm on a Saturday from DPD. That was before Christmas though so not sure if they work that late every Saturday.

If you have a tracking number you could call to check with DPD.

Nah its fine, I'll call the company and get my money back; can get it delivered to work without too much hassle.

If you haven't had an email this morning with a delivery slot, I doubt it'll turn up today.

Especially if tracking doesn't say it's on a van yet.

This happened to me a couple weeks ago with Amazon (Saturday delivery as well), they said it had be dispatched but DPD said they hadn't received it.

If DPD use the same software as interlink then bulk customers input the consignment details through a web portal straight to DPD, when the goods are collected from the site depending on the size of the shipment they will eithe be scanned on to the truck by the hand scanner if its being picked up on a van, OR if its from a very large company the goods won't get tracked till they get to the hub as they will of most likely had a trailer collection and the goods would have gone straight onto the back of the trailer on pallets of in cages.

This sounds like they have entered the details online, but haven't sent the goods yet.

Take it up with the supplier as your contract is with them, they will refund your carriage charges.
