I'm off to Amsterdam for work next week, and have Monday to myself. Any tips on what do and see?

So far I've been recommended:

Van Gogh Museum
Bols Tour

Any tips would be great.

Three times, love it, different types of jazz 7 days a week, watch the stairs going to the toilet they are very steep, even more after a few smokes and beers lol

Free walking tour is very good, 3 hours long and the guides are really good! Wrap up warm this time of year though!

If you want to kill a few hours on a movie, the Tuschinski Cinema is a lovely old fashioned experience. Oh and people watching with a beer in Rembrandt Square is great

Would avoid cafe alto just due to the prices. 18 euros for 2 drinks!

You can get a little boat tour around the canals.. which was pretty cool when i did it (needed a break from the cafes)

Rembrandt Square is more for going out at night rather than a relaxing drink.

To be honest, if I was you and had a day to myself - The Heineken Experience and a few drinks down the red light district would be ideal.
