The new metal keycaps for sale on OCUK look interesting, but I wonder two things:

1) Is it just a coating like the Saitek Cyborg keyboard that is advertised as having so-called "metal plating" on the WASD, space bar and cursor keys, but actually appeared to wear out just as quickly as any other cheap keyboard when I had one?

2) Would a backlight be visible through the etching of the lettering, or is it opaque?

Only cherry red mechanical keyboards i think

Surely all cherry mechanical keyboards and not just red?

Hmm, if it's 100% metal then I can see the reasoning for the price, and may be tempted with it :p. A pity though since I bought red wasd + esc key caps... maybe I should buy the arrow + number ones and hope they match together...

They do fit all cherry switches, not just red.
The reason for not having full sets, such as backspace and shift etc. Is because keyboard can have different layouts for those key sizes. All the ones on sale should fit all cherry switches, on all the keyboards that use them.

They are nice and shiny, not cold enough that i notice it during typing, and they warm up pretty fast during gaming if your holding them etc.

They do feel slightly different to type on, due ot the difference in weight, but its only a slight difference to normal. I would like a full set of metal keycaps, in black metal, with the ones I currently have in shiny silver - but somehow have led lighting through them.

But I guess thats asking a bit much, considering I wouldnt want to pay that much for them lol
