Alright guys and girls.

my friend has a chance to pick a new motor on Monday, been offered anything up to a m3 which is just plain daft. I suggested a 330D but to be honest happy to settle for a 320d msport with toys.

Daft question though, anything else he should consider?

anybody got a new 320d? how do you rate?

anybody's advise appreciated

Ross

The m3 will cost him proportionately more in tax

That 328 sounds like an interesting engine - is it a 4 or a 6?

the m3 sounds great but will cost a fortune to fuel and tax both for me and the company.

he's joining a new company and the owner knows cars make hi knees wobble so its a big carrot but the company is family owned and he could not justify the expense for them both lol

has to be diesel can be other makes

i'm really impressed with the new 3 series. i m often in a 320d m sport (had a 'lux' spec last week but seemed to have nothing additiomal over the standard m sport?) and for work purposes its plenty quick enough.. Nicer ride than the E90s. As an all round package theyve nailed it, if the savings are significant over the 330d then definitely worth a try.

The F30 is a big improvement over the E90. If you fancy an M3 but have decided to be more sensible cost wise and get the diesel, go for the 330d, the latest one does 0-60 in 5 and a half seconds with very good fuel consumption when your cruising.

Cheers
