just been reading up on the Team Sky Rapha jerseys and they do two types

PRO and replica

I didnt realise they called one a replica, i thought that just meant a cheaper fake version

the Pro version is the Race skin tight one and the Replica isnt

im tempted to get the replica one

AFAIK the rapha sky kit is one of the only kits available where you can actually buy the same stuff that the pros wear (the PRO) and a normal version in the same design (replica).

*I'm not sure if this is actually true or just rapha marketing stuff, i always thought you could buy the castelli garmin 'san-remo' speedsuit.

Thanks had a new kitchen put in this summer :p

I think I'm going to get a Trek Domane - doing more long rides so would like a bit taller HT. Plus I do a lot of commuting and doing it on such a fancy bike makes me feel like a bit of a knob!

I rode a Domane w/ Di2 when I test rode the Look 675. The look of the Trek didn't really float my boat but it was ridiculously comfy that seat post is quite interesting. Would be a superb commuter/gran fondo.

I can deal with people wearing team kit. After all, people wear football shirts for their team, don't they? I don't like people in champion rainbow jerseys or yellow leader's tdf type jerseys. I saw someone in a sky champion jersey a while back. Tut tut!

I have a tour green jersey (which I wear with 2010 HTC Highroad shorts), and a knock off Team Sky 2011 British Champion kit (like a red rag to a bull during commuter Olympics!). :D

I have some legit kit (Team Sky 2012, HTC Highroad 2010, Nalini CCCP), but then knock off gear too (that champs kit, a Livestrong one which I'm now chuffed is knock off :D, HTC Highroad 2011).

I'm just missing a rainbow now. :p.

I'm sure I'll be buying OPQS at some point too. Will never be able to justify the Rapha gear though. Mad prices.

Just picked these two up today, whoop whoop :D

Right...2 things.

I used by roadbike for the first time in a few months (normally use my TT) and ive fallen in love with it all over again. I fancy upgrading parts...which will end up being the pretty much everything i guess. wheels and groupset.

1) am I crazy putting a new groupset and wheels on? Will be ultergra and Planet-x wheels.

Its a 2012 Spec Allez. Already got Fulcrum 7's on as I buckled the wheels it came with. Alternative would be the Giant Composite 1 as its got the components I want and I can get it from my LBS for £1.8k.

2) Looks like im going to portugal in the summer with the family. I fancy taking a bike. What do people recommend? Bike boxes are like £500!!

Yeah I am going to the bike shop tomorrow to try it out :D

Oh I forgot to ask about the Legend bikes too... did you have a test ride in the end? Did it feel like anything special? Made your mind up about the new bike yet? :p

What bike is it you're upgrading?

I'd look into hiring local to where you are staying, once you've got a bike box even second hand, and paid the fee for flying with it you'd probably save by hiring. You can often get some pretty decent bikes for 20-30 euros a day.

Cycled around Arran today. Apart from the last ten miles or so in driving rain it was a pretty glorious day with amazing scenery. A good 55 miles with almost 4k feet of climbs if Strava is to be believed. Unfortunately my front derailleur was broken and I couldn't shift down on it. We couldn't get it fixed on the road but it wasn't too big an issue, only really lost ground on a few longer flat/downhill sections. First issue with the bike after a months use. Made me realise I need to get myself to a bike shop to learn some bike maintenance.

sounds good (apart from the front derailleur going). im hoping to bike around Arran soon :)

That's impressive, my 'Biggest Climb' is 17ft according to Strava.

Mine says the same.. its a bug im sure of it :-) my biggest is 300ft afaik.

Got the 400 mile badge but i wont be able to reach the 600 one! :-( no time to cycle extra ~120miles through the week. ~500/month is not a bad going for me and bang on my 5k goal for 2013.
