Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Yes i'm a big idiot i should more careful when it comes to the above. Tbh i didn't think it would be a big deal taking a days doze in one afternoon but then again i'm the same tool who was in hospital a few weeks back.

I understand that a cal deficit and working hard and eating right is the way to go. I've known this for a while tbh i don't know why in hell i took dnp i prob just thought i could lose weight faster.
And trust me i have been working hard I've lost over 3 stone since October through trial and error.I didn't buy the supp to lose weight but for the pre workout side of things. I just felt i needed a boost as going to gym 5/6 days a week with less than half my normal calorie is leaving me drained before i even get there.

Sorry if i'm ******* everyone off with my noobness/idiocy.

But monkee, if he doesnt use supps how will he justify eating chips each day? Probs pass out without chips most people do.

No chips nor any other crap, this is a typical day for me.

If anyone wants to they can check my fitenss profile, all my cardio and cals are listed there with all my weight loss recorded.

Sorry for the hijack.

People are just looking out for you mate that's all. You spent a night in A&E owing to taking things incorrectly, and with ignorance. Then you did it again with another supplement.

Stop taking supplements - RIGHT NOW.

Concentrate on diet and exercise.

Please.

Constant under-eating is already taxing on the body, which is why over-training via frequency or volume when chronically under-eating isn't very clever. Give your CNS a break. Unless you're full of dat dere celltech or some pro BB'er (i.e. full of dat dere celltech) then x3 a week is fine. An extra days rest is more important than an extra days training.

Then do your research

All you needed to do was ask in here and people would have advised you. Hell if you even searched on TPW they do actual pre workout rather than something blatantly listed under fat burners.

Which incidentally i might try next time as it actually lists what it has in it rather than being a proprietary blend.

Nah - don't chuck them. Just use them to SUPPLEMENT a good regime, rather than as a basis for it. And 150mg/dose of caffeine is quite a kick for one body with an already low tolerance for the stuff! Personally, I do not think you need them. :)

As I have explained before, there is no magic bullet for this: just hard work and pain. But you will look awesome at the end of it. Trust us. ;)

Nobody is annoyed with you mate, just concerned!

Slow down and do your research. There is no rush, and the 5 mins you spend not researching certainly isn't going to help you lose fat.

Sort your **** out before you kill yourself! ;)

I'll say this as well:

The people that I know who have the best physiques or have lost the most weight have done is patiently and consistently, without trying to take any shortcuts.

READ about carb cycling if you want, it's certainly a very effective way of dropping fat. Ask questions too!

Whats the deal with fish oils? Worth supplementing with? If so, what on Earth to get?!

There seems to be a million and one combinations out there.

I got a Omega 3,6&9 fish oil capsules once upon a time, but didn't notice any benefits at all.

Are they of limited use or did I just get the wrong ones?

Thanks

Many omega supplements have hardly any of what you actually want in them.

Discussion on the previous page points towards these being best value at the moment and I can't seem to find any better. Whatever you go for, you're looking for a quantity of EPA and DHA around that ideally. I've seen better quantities for the money when looking at liquid supplements, but not sure if this is your thing.

Anyone here use liquid instead of caps/softgels?

Nah it tastes horrible :p

BSD are good for fish oils - BSD112 if you want to use a code.

WE've had many discussions about the good reasons behind fish oils - it is all about EPA / DHA ratio - many people do not eat enough fish in their diet. However if you do eat a lot of oily fish you don't REALLY need to supplement it - but the health benefits are great.

Ii get the highest epa/dha ones I can get and smash back 10 or so a day. Huge help on joints and seems to aid fat loss. My diet lacks fish and fats however and i only see benefit from super high doses

Just be a pain I've read plenty to suggest supplementing with Fish Oil isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially high doses. In the end I just stopped supplementing with it because it's impossible to know which side is right?

Now I eat 250g-300g mackerel a week which I know gives very high quality Omega-3, not rancid like the capsules could be. I do supplement with 500mg of Krill Oil everyday but that's it.

Oh absolutely - I'd never suggest hyper dosing. But for those that do not eat fish, or little fish I think it's a very useful and beneficial (less placebo) than not. :)

I gave up reading the science on it to be honest. It makes a distinct difference to me, which im fairly sure isnt placebo. But its done nothing for some others so?? Who knows. Apparently steroids kill you too.

It's all down to individual choice, who knows which is the best? I only posted because threads like these rarely give two POV on anything and they can read like gospel to newbies. Just trying to show rarely is anything certain in supplements.

From my understanding the EPA is what helps with inflammation, so if suffering with that then it would make sense to high dose until this subsides. Or if trying to lose some bodyfat then high dosing fish oil could be the rare instance supplements do actually make a difference. I just wouldn't take shed loads every single day in the name of blind good health.
