Pic: Your desk...RIGHT NOW

Got a new desk today. It's an Ikea Malm in oak veneer. Drove 187 miles to Nottingham and thought why not look in Ikea as there are none round my way and never been in one before. Ended up buying loads of stuff as the wife has never been either. Wasn't looking to get a desk but the wife liked it as well and said buy it. Had to fit in the car mind, which it did just. We have an 08 Punto so looked quite comical putting it in and me riding in the back 187 miles back to Lowestoft.

Not too keen on the pull out part so will take that off. Will probably see if there's some way I can attach a draw or basket to the rails instead to store my A40 wires in..

Ikea is just the worst for tapping into your impulse buying. Once you go in there, there's no way you are walking out without a significant hit to your wallet.

Nice looking desk though dude.

See, if I was buying a desk I would at least want it to have some sort of function. What you have there is a table and I don't see why you have to pay a premium price for three pieces of wood!

I wouldn't exactly call £100 a premium. I doubt you would find a desk with real oak veneer for much cheaper else where. What you can't see underneath is a very spacious wire management shelf.

A desk is essentially a table so I don't really see where you are coming from. Also I bought that style as that is the best place in my house for a desk as I wouldn't be able to fit a corner desk any where, which I would prefer to have. For a similar price you can get the same desk with a draw collumn to one side. Also it functions as my desk!

I am also a little disturbed by you wanting a function!

Got one of the old versions of that desk and will be purchasing that one for the gf when we move out :)

Glad to know the wire management shelf is decent :)
