Also obvious scam is obvious. I've never understood why scammers don't pay a little bit of money to have their scams proofread. Would make them miles more successful.

Because it's mainly targeted at people who's English is not their first or even second language. Mainly students who come here to study.

I had something similar when looking for a place to rent. They also wanted £500 deposit by western union. I sent my response "**** you and your scam"

As it happens we are now renting a really nice place for £400 PCM (£1200 as there are three of us)

I came across a similar scam mid last year. The guy told me he was from Denmark so I had to pay 2 months rent and a deposit (1500ish I think) through western union then send him a picture of the receipt. I hosted a picture on my web server and waited for him to connect then with his IP found his ISP and general area (Bournemouth) then sent him an email telling him the police had been informed and should be visiting him in Bournemouth very soon.
Doubt his ISP or the police ever did a thing but hey ho

I should still have the email thread somewhere it might be worth a read again
