Looking to replace a old system ( 7 years old ) as the ATX PSU blew up and I dont really want to spend £100 on a new one.

So, for around £3-400 looking for a system that can browse internet, play some games, not on high level of course, maybe total war ect, do emails ect.

I have a great CoolerMaster case I want to keep so dont need that but would like an Asus board with new bits.

Any ideas?

TYIA.

The case is a tower - The Praetorian coolermaster from around 7 years ago, will be able to take full size mobo's. I have an OS disc as well so only need the hardware for this.

Good questions Bacon? I should have put that info in the 1st post.

Thanks Honosuseri,

Any asus boards you would put in to that build, never had anything but issues with Gigabyte boards in the past.

Gigabyte has a 3 year UK based RMA and their mobos have a dual BIOS which is a nice safety feature. I've used them plenty of times for intel and Trinity builds without any issue at all.

I edited in an improved intel spec. Granted I've used B grade to get on budget but it would be the better option especially if you will get TW:Rome 2 upon release later in the year ;)

Thanks for the correction, Monday morning easy mistake :D

Easily done, it would work and it's a great price for 1600mhz RAM but the IGP would like faster RAM if possible. I also used the ATX sized mobo which is only a couple of quid more. I really dislike the blue PCB on some of GBs mobos, it does make them look cheap in my opinion :(
