Yes, the 7950 would be by far the better buy. The 7950's direct competitor is the 670.
Not always, GTX570 (£240-£260) was faster than 6970 (£280-£320) last gen. While it had less vram, but it matters very little until the mainstream game such as BF3 was out that it was "starting" to have some impact...but the fact was that GTX570 was still cheaper to buy.ATI will always win when comparing cost and performance
Cheaper by 20 quid, whereas the 7950 is £100 cheaper than the 670. Seriously, AMD have never been more expensive than Nvidia to the scale Nvidia is to AMD.

I'm trying to decide which GPU to buy, The GTX 660 or the ATI 7950.
AMD seem to be much better value for money this gen. I don't really get why Nvidia have kept their prices high for so long when they don't have top performance. Greed or just plain stupidity?
I agree Humbug, Although if AMD had not have asked such a high price the first few months after the 7950 and 7970 were released i would have an amd in my pc right now instead of nvidia.
If there was some competition when they were released then i expect the prices would have been lower.
