gigabyte wf3 appreciation society thoughts, issues, and overclocks!

^^^ you cant flash it with an older bios? to get around the voltage issue?
Not with Gigabyte Utility, I guess I could force it to flash in dos, or whatever... I remember someone trying it with a voltage locked 7970 the other week, and it woudn't boot, so had to switch to backup and fix the other chip.

well after a bit of fiddeling with volts and fan profiles i now have the card running 1150/1450 @1.225v core temp max 58c and vrm's max 64vrm 1 and 66c vrm2 (playing metro 2033 everything maxed)

pretty happy with those temps tbh

any point in pushing for higher clocks? will i realistically see any performance gains in game pushing any further?

anyone? this will be for 24/7 clocks

My 7950 WF3 does 1100/1500 @1.25v.

I have the new FZ0 bios.

Runs FC3 with no problems at these speeds. If I up the core to 1150 it usually locks up. Max temp 60C.

Nice card.

These seem to require a hell of a lot of volts for the clocks they're getting.

Yeah compared to other cards they do seem to be more voltage hungry but then at the same time they run cooler than most cards with less voltage and lower clocks!
So I suppose its just a good thing they have a very efficient cooler.
