swiftech h220 or OcUK Tech Lab - V12 Watercooling Kit 360?

I want to get into water cooling so I want a straight forward beginners set up!

I would like to water cool my gfx card also which is a msi 680 twin frozr 3

Both the same thing essentially, the swiftech kit has a pump built in to the radiator, the OcUK kit has the pump separate.

I'd go for the OcUK kit, better components and won't be a pig to upgrade at a later date.

Check with this: http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/

If it doesn't show any full cover blocks available then you may be out of luck on that front, though you can still use universal core only blocks if you so wish :)

EK-FC680 GTX - Acetal CSQ vga full cover

EK-VGA Supreme HF Bridge Edition - Acetal+EN (Nickel) vga universal

they are the results it found for my card

Your thinking of the Swiftech H20-220, the H220 has the pump built into the block similar to a corsair aio's.

Yeah, the H220 uses a pump mounted to the CPU block like the Apogee drive DDC's and has a 240 rad with integrated reservoir. As opposed to the H20-220 which has a 240 rad with integrated reservoir and built in pump (the H220 is the better of the two as the design is more expandable).

My bad I haven't been following swiftech lately, got my info from an image search :p

@op sounds like you need to have a good read up on the finer details of a custom loop, get stuck finding some of the answers you require, give us a shout :)

all I need to know is what parts I would need to connect my gfx card to the h220!!

wouldn't I need parts for the motherboard also if I was to water cool my gfx card?

To watercool your gpu you would obviously need the block and x2 fittings, maybe another rad is you plan to push your card hard.
You won't need any more additional things for the motherboard.

I don't have a clue of what fittings I need to do that as there is so many sizes and different kinds.

Wouldnt i need heat sinks for ram chips and MOSFET?

You would need ID 3/8" OD 5/8" fittings.
Heatsinks are only required if you go with a core only block but fullcover blocks don't need them.

Ok thanks for that, but what is ID & OD ? Please excuse my noobyness! As I don't have a clue about water cooling.

Sorry but I would avoid Swiftech these days. In the UK, it's next to impossible to get spares or replacement parts so re-use is severely limited if you change any parts. They also had serious problems with quality assurance at times (badly anodized tops on the GTX block were ignored and the resulting galvanic corrosion blamed on not using their specific coolant - in the US some people got free replacements but these were not offered to overseas customers).

Wow! That doesn't sound to good!

Maybe I should just get the ocuk kit and avoid the swiftech! Like you say if if comes to parts I'm pretty much done for, with no service outside the USA!!

At least I will get good after sales help with ocuk

Wow that doesn't sound too good. How long ago was that?

I did see one UK retailer website site has exclusive UK rights to the fittings, which I thought was odd. They would most likely be the best to buy through.

Don't remember when the GTX went but I had to get a friend in the US to buy me a replacement copper top. When I wanted a replacement mount for one of the old 6000 blocks they simply weren't available because there was a newer range.

Don't get me wrong. The stuff is great, the integrated pump/rad is a great idea, Swiftech have been constant leaders in innovation and not just in water-cooling. My issue is simply with the problems with distribution in the UK which is very poor.
