*** 2013 Weight Loss Thread with Recipes ***

Monday 21st

Target Weight - 10st 7lb

Last Monday - 11st 9lb
Current Weight - 11st 8lb
Loss = 1lb

Only lost a 1lb this week and only managed to go running once due to the snow/ice :(

Finding it allot harder to shift the weight while i'm not running and cycling regularly, can't wait till the weather picks up !

Weight loss has slowed as I've been trying to build some muscle rather than just focusing on fat loss. Down to 69kg from 96kg in Nov 2011 so getting things backwards is good for once! I'm not really planning to drop more weight but would like to shed a little more fat and add a bit more muscle.

Progress pics from Dec 2011 to August 2012 to this month (sorry for the B&W, didn't realise I'd left the camera in one of its art modes).

I don't get it, I workout 6 times a week, and if I eat more than 1600 cals a day @ just under 14st I won't budge a lb.

Just hoping I am putting on muscle.

This is me mate, the only way I can lose lbs now is during say week that I dont exercise and as soon as I start again the following week it goes back up to where it was prior. I've given up caring as all of this is at the weight that I set myself to be at by xmas just gone. I dont really want to go much lower as I think It would start to look "to far".

I too am only eating about 1600 cals a day and I exercise a lot.

How long have you been doing this for?

Too long on such a deficit can cause your loses to slow down, when I found this happening I would have a massive cheat meal to kick start it going again.

I've dipped below to about 13st 11 but fluctuates around that area.

I am trying to build muscle now so starting from next week I am upping my intake a fair bit.

Getting married in October so really have to do something, but at the same time be careful with it.
Im currently 220lbs, can't diet as I don't trust myself, and dare not cut back on food as Im ex anorexic/bulimic, so Im planning on eating what I like, just changing what I eat for healthier options as Ive enjoyed being relaxed about food.
One thing I cant do is sit there calorie watching as the last time I did that I ended up counting out individual porridge flakes for my daily intake, and I still don't know where the switch happened from diet to obsession, so Im trying to do this gently and ease myself into weight loss whilst pretending not to if you know what I mean..

Decided at the start of this year to do something about my weight, after letting myself go completely over the passed two years.

Not doing anything overly strict, have just cut out alcohol and take away/fast food six days a week, and limited my daily calories (6 days a week) to 1800. Plus have joined the local gym, currently doing three sessions a week (cardio only for now).

Have decided to weigh myself once a month, on the 1st of each, not sure if this will be detrimental or not, but figured it would give me a bigger picture of weight loss rather than what is water loss etc.

Anyway, weighed 259lbs on 1st Jan 2013 and 248lbs today. Aim is 7lbs a month.

I'd emplore you guys to watch the big fat fiasco documentary on YouTube. I used to struggle losing weight even when I was on really low calories and exercising a lot. I now eat a lot more but only really take carbs ok before exercise if I really need the energy. I eat more fat and more protein and more in general but am able to keep my weight down.

This blog was extremely helpful as well.
