RAM packaging question

Hi all,

I need to safely package some RAM for delivery, the place where i work deals a lot in circuits, boards, memory etc, so i asked the tech officer if i could have some packaging for my RAM.

He gave me some of these http://www.teknis.co.uk/p-1166-electrostatic-conductive-black-open-top-bags.aspx

would these do the job? i dont mean not to trust his judgement, they just look different to an antistatic bag...and the word conductive doesnt sound good when im trying to protect something \:

It says 'Electrostatic Conductive Bag' on it, is this the same as antistatic? im struggling on google and didnt think to ask him.

just put some bubble wrap in it, and it will be fine.

Just don't place it on the outside of the bag, only the inside.

I was considering bubble wrap too, but wasnt sure if its actually okay for memory to come into contact with bubble wrap.

Bubble wrap can be static, but generally I'd not worry too much. Use one of the bags you've been given and wrap bubble wrap around it if you want to.

Look like what has always been the standard until they invented the pink bags, plastic blisters etc.

Aye, I've got a bunch of AS bags lying around (or had, I think I threw a lot out), and they've come in all sorts of flavours, from very dark, to silver, to sort of striped, and padded (usually a pinkish bubblewrap*), and even a sort of foam.
It's odd seeing how AS packaging has changed over the years, I guess as the size/cost of the packaging and how "green" it is have varied in importance.

If sending something like ram anywhere, I'd try and put it in an antistatic bag of some kind, then put it in a box/roll some card around it and put it in a jiffy bag (the box, or card gives it some added stiffness and protection from being bent in the post).

*I'm not sure if the old AS bubblewrap was pink because of an additive, or to make it obvious it was antistatic.
