had a go at tweeking my 7950 but...

Not completely sure, but I'd imagine it's to do with the 12v supply coming from your PSU unless someone can correct me. I wouldn't worry about it.
Clock speed and temps should tell you all you need to know.

Could i ask what your cooling your gpu with plz m8? yours seems to run very cold, mines running about 15-20 degs hotter than yours while running heaven.

Yeah, mine was 87.3 and wouldn't do more than 1150 stable more often than not and required relatively low voltage to do it.

I was talking about the fact that low asic requires a lot more voltage to achieve the same clocks and how the WF cards seem to share this trait :)

Mines a good clocker but it runs hot, still waiting for my water cooler for it, its an xfx i havent installed afterburner yet just used amd overdrive and i can drag both sliders right over to 1200/1575 and its fine, but gets in the late 70s in temp at that speed.

I guess your cooler is a lot better than the xfx one.

Tbh, at 1200, 70's or higher are to be expected more often than not. Sounds like you've got a pretty good card there. Be interesting to see what you can get when it's underwater.

It's not my card or cooler btw :) They're in their boxes at the moment, but that's another story ;)

just oc'd my 7950 with ccc core 1000 and memory 1300 and power slider +20%
i have just played mohw and my max temp is 85c, is that ok? whats the max temp it can go to, or is 85c too hot?

I read in a few places on here under 80 is the place to keep it, thats why i havent bothered to clock mine any further till i get batter cooling on it.

edit: better* although batter cooling sounds tasty :)

yes mate that card, i have just installed msi afterburner and put the fan speed on auto user defined 80c 80% fan speed, will that help
i also have a case fan right next the to gfx fan sucking in cold air which will be sucked in by the gfx card

It must be a lot quieter fan on your card than mine, cause 80% on mine sounds like a jet is trying to escape from my case.

Ok, that sounds a lot better :) I was under the impression that the IceQ was pretty quiet...

@BluD
The XFX coolers aren't really known for being that great. They also don't provide much, if any airflow to the VRMs.
On the bright side, you have a good clocker it seems and it should work out well since you're going to watercool it :)

Hehe yeah should be cool when the block arrives, your right about the XFX coolers though even at the stock speed theyre not quiet, maybe they should provide a free set of enclosed headphones to use when ya fire up a game. :)
