Hi All,

Anyone know what happens to my 10 year USA visa once my UK/EU passport expires?

Does it continue onto next passport ETC??

Cheers

Q.8 My passport has expired, but the U.S. visa in it is still valid. Do I need to apply for a new visa?

No. If your visa is valid and unmarked or undamaged, you can travel with your two passports together (old and new), if the purpose of your travel matches your current nonimmigrant visa. Also, the name and other personal data must be the same in both passports (unless the name change was due to marriage), and both passports must be from the same country and of the same type (i.e., both tourist passports and both diplomatic passports).

If your name changed due to marriage, you can travel to the United States with both passports as well as your marriage certificate.

Cheers for that now I know from the past that UK passport office will snip a corner of your expired UK passport

Will they do this with a valid visa in it?

Thanks

Just called the IPS not much help they say I need to send a covering letter saying please don'tclip my ppassport

I travel to and from the states a few times a year to join my ship and my visa is in my expired passport with the edge clipped off and never have a problem.

My old Indian passport had it's edge clipped off and I travelled to UK no problem.

Will be applying for a new passport in the next few months and my current one has a 10 year US visa so in the same boat as you :) The edge means nothing - just so that you can't travel on the passport itself.
