Only certain cards exist, you can't change formations freely. There are none that can change someone from a right-sided player to a left-sided player or vice-versa.

Formation cards only alter the formation, position cards are the ones that alter what position the player is comfortable playing in. You can't change a left sided player to a right sided player and you can't change a CB to anything other than a CB which is just silly imo.

Best I've pulled since the new TOTW 20 is Puyol 41212 and IF Trapp 41212 so not too bad from 1500 fifa points i guess.
