Hi,

As the title says, will my Corsair TX750M PSU be enough for 2 7970? I already have 1 7970 and I'm considering picking another up, but I'm not sure whether I'll need a new PSU.

At the moment, my TX750M is powering my 3770K OC 4.6GHz at 1.2V, MSI 7970, 1TB SATA3 HDD and Kingston HyperX SSD.

Thanks

It will its the minimum requirement though if you plan to overclock them you might consider a psu with more headroom.

I ran 2x 7970's off a similar 750w PSU, left at their stock oc of 1050/1475 (ish)

Ran absolutely fine, though I agree with above - it's a close shave once fully oc'd

I upgraded to a 850 and runs fine.

I have run 2 x 7950's on my system from a tx750m. With my 2500k or 2700k (rip) at 4.8ghz and gpu's both at 1100/1600 and lots of drives fans etc it was under 500w at the wall.

A TX750M is plenty for your system. You do not need a new PSU.

I have a power meter connected between the socket and PC plug. It cost me a fortune and is very accurate. Its the best way to get an accurate measure of power usage rather than crappy tables or guessing.

I have had it a while now, I think it was around £1k ish. It does lots of cool things with electrics... :)

Good thing is you don't have to pay that much for a generic one if you are just a "normal" user. I think I can buy one here in Denmark for around 20-30£ and it uses around 0,5 watt to run and are accurate within 0,3% which would be fine for most I would think.

I bought it because at the time I was setting myself up as a self employed electrician. Luckily the RAF decided to extend my service..
