Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Hmmm nobody reporting back yet. I see two scenarios:

1) No one has starting playing it yet
2) Everyone is playing it and having too much fun to find the time to come here and post about it

Or there is the third option; in that it is rubbish and everyone is too embarrassed to come on here and post about it after spending £60-£70 on the Wizards edition and so are currently crying into/dry-humping, their cuddly Drippy ;)

I suspect that it is the second; I have my copy, but won't be starting until tomorrow :D

I'm enjoying it so far. I've levelled up to 7 and I'm currently running around the sewers of Ding Dong Dell - the first town you encounter in the game. The battle system is satisfying, the presentation is of course very Ghibli, and the story is certainly compelling enough to make me want to keep playing. On the downside, it does seem like I'm about twice as old as the target audience, and I'm slowly growing to despise the word "neato".

You know, I'm actually feeling the same way. I haven't played much of it but it seems a tad juvenile right now - even the kid's mum dying didn't really seem to be that big a deal.

exhashdotdot please use spoiler tags... :(

Pretty sure it's common knowledge that the mum dies, considering it's the whole premise behind the game, and in fact the game description starts off:

"The tale of a young boy named Oliver, who embarks on a journey into a parallel world to become a magician in an attempt to bring his mother back from the dead." :p

I asked someone in a movie thread to do the same and got set upon by all. It's like it's hard to use them or something.

Spoiler tags are a must in threads where spoilers are explicitly warned about in the thread title. So tell them all to shut the hell up.

So yeah. SPOILER TAGS!!! This is a general discussion thread, we dont want to see story spoilers.

I'm about 20 hours in now and I love the game, it's a little bit hand holdy to begin with.

But the game opens up massively and there such a variety and depth to the systems that it gives you nearly too much to choose!

Will continue playing and post my thoughts later. :D

Sounds like everything FFXIII should've been. Oh boy oh boy.

Mine is here. Guide isn't.

Wizards edition is nice but I thought it would be bigger.Might start it up before I start work but will definitely be playing it after. Can't wait!

Mine is here. Guide isn't.

OK I have an update from Amazon, anyone who ordered the guide but it hasn't been dispatched yet will have to wait until at least the 8th for this as Amazon are receiving the next shipment of guides on the 7th, so you'll have to play a week without the guide! :D

The blurbs on the back of books must be a nightmare for you

:D

Yeah, it's hardly a spoiler, it's in the trailer for Christ's sake. It's like complaining about someone telling you Harry Potter is a wizard or someone telling you Peach gets kidnapped by Bowser in the some Mario game.
