Hi All...

I have got an RMA from Corsair over a noisy H100 & they are going to replace it !

Now, here's the Question I would like to know from anyone who has done an RMA with a H100.

What do I need to send back & What replacement did you get ?

I know you have to send the Unit & the Fans but I what to keep the back plate, has any one not sent this back with no Issues.

I here/read that they will replace it with the new H100i ?

the reason I am asking is I hear that the back plate on the H100i is not as good as the H100 & is loose ?

Any feed back on ether, I would be thankful !

Andi

You'll need to send everything back, boxed and all I assume. That's usually how RMA goes, if anything is missing it's refused.

+1

There are plenty of builds on these forums with the H100i and none have problems with the backplate that I have seen. I wouldn't worry about it.

Everything needs to go back and it must be well packaged.

If you're RMA-ing direct with Corsair, they'll ask you to send it to an address in the Netherlands, which will cost you in the region of £30.

I called Corsair in Fremont, CA to 'moan' about the return shipping as I felt that since I bought it from a UK address, there should be a UK returns service.

They sent UPS to take it to the Netherlands, FOC. :D

Thank you for the info.

Yes the Address is Holland, I'm not looking forward to the price of the shipping ! Was it you who was on another thread saying about this ?

Its quite bad as I could have RMA'd back to the online outlet I bought it from but I an upgrade for £30, it could be worse ! I may sell it & buy an HSF to make back my money, not sure yet...

Yes. I mentioned it in another thread. Corsair now have my unit and I'm waiting to hear from them.

Thanks for the info again...

All packed up & sent, cost £18 with Royalmail. I did'nt think that was bad, just have to wait for the new one to turn up, they did say they would just replace it & send me a new one but whats the bets they send me a Refurb H100 :(

Fingers Crossed for the H100i...

Is that price with full tracking etc? RM quoted me £31 on a 2kg parcel

That's Signed for, I don't think its tracked but I get conformation when it get's there. I think its insured up to £50 so If its lost I get something back. It came to just over 1KG so that's about right if your 2KG one came in at £31 ! A PSU is heavy & I'd be very annoyed if I had to send one of them. Funny as I've just ordered a HX850, I was going to buy a AX but I see so many over the net that have problems so Fingers crossed it wont fail but a it seem that unit seem to have good standards...

Hmm. I assume then somehow a H100 is lighter than a H100i.

Personally I have a TX650M PSU and it's doing fine.

Strange that ? I only pad'ed it with one layer of bubble-rap & brown taped it...Were there scails correct ?

I went for the HX850 as the Corsair Forums are FULL of HX750,AX's & AXi's with problems. I think my PSU is on its way out as its triggering the ASUS Surge protect & its making a hiss & buzzing so I been looking around & found most of the above have issues, I'm sure there are LOAD's that are fine (as we know people only use the forums for problems or advice) but I can over look the amount of problems PSU can come with !!!

How long did you have to wait if you dont mind me asking ? If any one else can give me this info I would be thankful...

I got my RMA ticket on a monday, called them on tuesday regarding the postage costs. They sent UPS to collect it on Friday and by the following friday I had my replacement.

Nice one, I keep checking the RMA status & they still haven't booked it in as recieved ?

Defective Parts Received on: Defective Parts Not Yet Received
* NOTE: it may take up to 24 hours for this date to be updated after arrival at Corsair

I'm hoping it will be there by now ?

Erm... Do none of you guys use ParcelMonkey or Parcel2Go? Always cheaper than RM.

Of course and actually no they weren't. For the same level of expedience, cover and tracking Parcels2go were more expensive. Only by a couple of quid mind.

There was one service cheaper on P2G, but my h100i would still be sat here waiting to be collected if I'd gone for that :-/

I might be wrong but as OcUK are main Corsair product dealers they might be able to be a middle man on behalf of Corsair and sort the RMA.
