Oh the misery...

Maybe just maybe the son was trying to get the cat stealth mode? If said son had got up and retrieved said cat the correct way. Said cat may have been spooked and caused it to damag the amp further? So maybe your son was tryin to swipe teh kitty fast.

Actually, it turns our the kitten had NOT gone behind the amp, but behind the sofa and printer where there are still cables.
Step-son tried to recline back and reach overhead style to grab Hamish (kitten), but his legs flicked up and under the lamp table and launched the apple juice AND the lamp through the air onto the amp (near the tv).

Now, the lamp is one of those metal ones whereby you can touch it anywhere on the body and it turns on or off. When that and the juice hit the amp, BANG, FIZZLE, POP!
The sparky step-son said it was arcing.

Sounds you DON'T have AV kit. Info states NOT to put anything on the amp, so i can't stack my kit. It is pretty well placed to be fair, but can't legislate for some lanky pillock booting a full glass of apple juice that was sitting on a nearby lamp table across a 2ft distance to land on the amp.

Thank you i do try. I understand it was an accident, but am i expected to pay for it? If he'd not been so lazy and got up to walk around the sofa then it wouldn't have happened.
Again, **** happens, but i aint paying for someone else mistakes.....i've done enough of that for them. Now they are earning, they can pay for their own mistakes.

I have an AV kit, yours blew up, I have a rack, clearly you're stupid!

Might need a slightly bigger brick, but yes indeed.

I've found 1 standard brick is ample for up to two kittens.

Edit -

Oh a brick for the stepson? Should be ok with just one, just don't forget to tie hands and feet together! (We've all been there at some point)
