Hi

I'm looking at speccing my new rig, I think I have settled on a i5-3570k or a i7-3770k

Do either of these come with a cooler in the box if they are retail?

If it does I realise I will have to add a superior cooler later, but I would prefer to get one later.

If you want to go down that road then be aware that you'll not want to push it until you upgrade.

The stock cooler is a joke compared to most aftermarket ones. Fine for stock speeds but that's about it.

Here's a picture of my TPC-800 next to the Retail Intel heatsink when I bought my 3770k: link

If you want to overclock then definately buy a cooler as well if you have the money :) they are well worth investing in. Especially on ivy as they do run hot!

When my mate bought a pre overclocked i5 2500k last year, it came with 2 coolers. The retail cooler and an aftermarket one.

Just putting that out there, not sure if they still do that or he just got a funny order.
