A mate at Uni had one and used to road rally it. Bloody quick with a magic carpet ride.

Not sure if they're obscure but they're cool as ****especially when tuned!
The French touring car version was especially interesting!

My dad has one of these, exactly the same as this one, Reg C700 UUE!
One of the quickest cars on the road back then, circa 200bhp plus (stated 190bhp) for homologation but not much quicker in the early 80's. He sold one of these for the Vitesse, again exact same colour, Reg AHK 21X.

Old and therefore now rare because they rotted away doesn't really equal obscure. The Capri and SD1 were common as much in the 70s/80s. Waiting for someone to post a Montego Clubman Estate next.
I've seen a couple of lada niva's round my way. After seeing Jeremy and James in one on top gear it's pretty cool to see them in the flesh and I find them quite funky in a retro way
They are actually quite awesome offroad too.
Mate used to have one, went everywhere our kitted up Series landrovers went and more sometimes!
My mate owned one for a couple of years until it rotted underneath and didnt have the time of funds to fix it.
I drove it once, im 6.1 and it was far too small for me, even took that bit of the roof off, that reminds me.
When taking the roof off it comes with a bag to put it in the boot but the boot is so small its like tetris, the 3 roof parts must go in a certain order and certain way, took us ages first time.
When he sold it, no joke the guy who bought it picked it up in a transit van, ill see if i can get him to send me the pics haha.

There's an ancient one that does the rounds near me. (Gibraltar is historically Honda mad for some reason.) It's in perfect nick, and I must admit to liking it hugely.
