Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy, but Golfs are about understatement and subtle styling. All wheels posted so far look chavvy to me, some worse than others. Whenever I see a car with bbs etc, I just assume boy racer lacking in class.

You do realise that BBS wheels are OEM on a lot of VAG group cars?

Indeed, a variant of the BBS CH was available OEM on the 4F A6.

Bbs ch isn't a good thing in my opinion either due to the scene diluting how nice the wheels are. Knock off/replicas of those wheels are so done to death now that I do instantly groan inside when I see them.

Also smacks of no imagination

B5 rs4 wheels on special edition Audi tt were great in the early 2000s. Every vag car owner with no imagination jumped on the band wagon and we ended up with rs4 replica wheel syndrome, done to death on golfs and a3s all over the place.

Same applies to LMs too. Choosing unimaginative replicas is only one step above painting your wheels black imo

Love how everyone on here seems to go no scene is ***p and scene is gash.

Then go and say get some BBS's..... come on people how much more scene and sheep do you want to get......

Personaly, you like them get them end of. You have to drive the car :)

This^ is what I will be doing.

So far it looks as if the 1552 Tarmacs will be best suited for being light enough whilst also clearing the 370mm 2 piece discs with Ferrari F40 brembos.

Wish you luck, the F40 has appalling brakes. I usually wind down the windows and pop my hands out to slow down!

The front kit that's being put on my car, I am assured is fantastic (custom setup by vagbremtechnic and brakecaliperrefurbs).

The rears will be something similar to this:

Slammed right to the deck on overly wide split rims with painted centres and chrome outers from a brand only the scene even knows about with tyres so stretched the side walls are at almost flat. Maybe throw in some air ride so it's vaguely usable outside of a car show.

A set of 18" BBS alloys aren't especially scene :p

1552s are getting everywhere now, i'd say they were more 'scene' than BBS CH / CH-R
