Hi guys

I currently have:
i7 [email protected]
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R (1366)
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
2 x 1GB Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5870

I play games quite a lot but currently have a 3D monitor which doesnt have the best resolution. Playing most new games on a fairly high settings. I have noticed recently I have to turn down settings more often and I find having crossfired sometimes ends up giving me some problems.
I guess my point is would it be worth upgrading to a graphics card like this with my current rig
-Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics ~£320 or even one around the £210-250 range

Or is the build quite dated and i would be better buying new mobo etc (not PSU or storage) but keeping the 5870's and getting new card at a later date.

Thanks for any help

CPU and mobo are fine. Overclock that i7 though !

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £239.99
Total : £251.39 (includes shipping : £9.50).

This GPU is extremely popular. Very cool and quiet at idle performs at the same level at the 670 (with the latest AMD drivers) and yet is like £80 less.

Easy call and use that £80 to buy an SSD if you don't already have one:

Thanks for the quick help :)

So that card would out perform 2x5870? Also yeah i bought that cpu with the intention of overclocking but never bothered buying a decent cpu cooler so i guess i could use the cash saved for one. Any recommendations?

Ooops i forgot to say i had an SSD already

Yes it would be better than 5870CF

Any of these would serve you very well (I put in £30 options and £60 options)

+1 for oc'ing the cpu. I used to run an i7 920 @4.2ghz. Switched to the cpu in sig. In bf3 which i play a lot, the 3570k is actually a little slower than the old cpu.

Also used to have sli gtx 470's. Switched them out for the gtx 670 wf. Better minimum frame rates in game, lower maximums. But an oc on the 670 cured that. Noise, heat and power use dropped an awful lot. Able to max bf3 out now with x4 msaa. Not possible on the 470's due to lack of vram.
