Had an enermax power supply for five years..

moved from one computer to a new build

less stress as no added graphics card.. running fine for a month..

no wont switch on.. tried powering the bridge wire from green to com. nothing

do enermax rma only under warranty or do they all service power supplies and is it worth the cost

How many watts your enermax psu had ? and what parts the new build is made of ?

5 years is quite a long time to be honest im surprised it didnt die earlier. Its not worth to repair broken PSU better get a new one.

Basically the amperage on the rails will be poor, and if your components draw enough current it will go bang very easily.

ok whats wrong with them please

whats best on a budget.. simple dual core and two hard drive system

Your looking at a 450 watt, probably get away with less but 450 gives room for a low profile gpu later for small time gaming.

You should pay around £10+ per 100 watt, stick with brands like XFX, Seasonic and corsair but lately as people have said, corsairs seem to be having problems, seen a few posts about it but not ready in depth about it since I don't touch them anyway.

It's what happens eventually mate, when I moved back in to uni plugged everything in, tried switching on and nothing..turns out was the PSU. Got a XFX 550w now :)

in my old build when i plugged in my asus xonar d2 pci the crapy psu i had started making a burning smell then eventually the system shut down, i guess it overloaded it :p
