I've literally just started to save properly. Putting away about £300/month, planning on moving out by halfway through this year with a mate so need to get our deposit and first month's rent stashed.

After that I'll keep doing it because I'll have more important bills to pay and will have to start acting like a grown up.

Yes.

I aim to save over half my salary each month, but I'm looking to get a mortgage as soon as I find the right place.

Now that we are paying ~800 pm in child care saving has had to take a back seat, we manage a few hundred at best now.

No

Don't have any spare cash at end of month

I try to save at least 1/3rd to 1/2 of my net income each month, but some months come along like the last where I spend 1.5 months net income (wedding related cost, honeymoon, I broke my skis so needed a new pair).

I save the maximum allowed through my company sharesave scheme - £250 a month; about £83 a month (3x) for each yearly scheme over 3 years. Means I end up with about £3k each year to buy shares at the fixed price when I started.

Usually I come out with around £4k after selling the shares (at the current price). This goes towards a holiday or big purchases.

Yep, income from my two lodgers is being saved for the next 3/4 years to clear the mortgage in a lump sum.

If I didn't have lodgers and lived on my own I wouldn't be able to save anything.

Yep although i live at home still so i don't have insane bills to pay, just about 1/4 on rent, another 1/4 on other stuff.

I could save 1/2 if i lived more frugally, however i don't, its more like 1/4 and i waste 1/4 on whatever i want during the month (take aways / electronics / etc)

Yup now the pc is finished. I rarely go out drinking etc so a lot of my disposable is going to savings.

Although i do still get a cheeky takeaway sometimes.

Only just started, put away about £1000 this month (no doubt end up taking a bit out of it so reasticly I should be saving £800 a month.

Got an app for my phone, which gives you graphs etc. Its working well having to record everything I spend makes you more aware that your spending money on crap.

In the enviable position of not having many outgoings at all currently so 80% of my earnings go to into savings
That said, I still cant manage to build up a decent sum before finding something frivolous to spend it on.
