Hey Its me again :)

I got paid for January (yay) and its time for me to invest in a good CPU Cooler for my 3570K. Looking to get it to about 4.2 - 4.4 Ghz constant with NO turbo.

I've seen a lot recommend the Alpenföhn but a few others have recommended Thermaltake and etc.

Whats the best one for the price range that will give me good cooling options and maybe best/safest OC to get to with them?

Thanks :)

I'm currently looking into this myself. Ive decided to move away from the large CPU coolers and try a watercooling solution!

For the top end of your price range you can get the Antec Kuhler 620 for about £48 on Overclockers. For a little more the Corsair Hydro Series gets good reviews!

Or Noctua DH14, Thermaltake Silver Arrow, budget option is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7... plenty of excellent coolers within your budget, just need to make sure you have clearance above ram slots, case is big enough and you replace the thermal paste (most fans include a tiny tube/sachet).

I can't really be helpful, I can only agree with what you said about recommendations.

Subbed because I'm also in the market.

Wow Thanks for all the responses.

@Idleman, out of the 4 what would you choose personally?

@SaTrOx The cooler master one for £30. Is it a really good one or just one of the best cheapest one around?

Also i bought Arctic Freezer Thermal paste so will use that on them :)

Look in my sig, great little cooler for the price. :D

I have this cooler :)

I am clocked to 4.2GHz and under prime95 it never go above 60C.

Sorry to thread hi-jack, but whats the fan like one that? Is it loud? My GPU already gets loud underload, however when I'm watching a movie or something similar, I like the system to be quiet, so whats this fan like?

Edit: And I'm sure the OP wouldn't mind knowing this himself :P

I'm also in the market looking for a new cooler, is this one any good?
Corsair Hydro H70 Core CPU Watercooler: £51

Very quiet. I can't hear it at all even at load :)

Be my guest!

+1 to the question. I want to know noise compared to the intel stock HS.

Hijack if you want :) lol As long as its about CPU Coolers, more opinions gets us more to the right product :)

I didn't mention it before as I'm pretty sure OcUK no longer stock it, but I use the Gelid Tranquilo - for £22 it was the best price/performance - only beaten by £60+ coolers. I find it perfect in my Raven R03 on an i5 2500k at 4.4 Ghz; 35C idle, 58C load (Sli 580 adds to this!), quiet too!

Every review is going to be different sometimes by a tiny bit sometimes by a lot
Plus u have to take into consideration that they might have used well ventilated cases good fans ETC. :)

If you read the reviews, you will have seen the test set up.
Overclock3d used the Carbide 500R,i7 950 and Vortez the Lian Li B52B, i7 920.
Vortez used 1 stock fan, 2 Noctua NF-P12s/NF-P14s and 2 SWiF2-120Ps to show the differences.
