Hi

I have a ATI 5970, that I seem to be having issues with. My pc has an extened warrenty from another company, but im hoping you can give me some advice.

As they dont make the 5970 any lobnger what is it's equivalent? I dont want to take the pc back & get replacment card, higher model number but lower spec!

Performance wise I totally agree bit I bet that 5970 cost a fortune and I'd be a bit disappointed if they tried to palm me off with a £190 card, that's what I was trying to get across :)

Yes but todays retailers would say its value is what its value is after how ever much use it has had, i wouldnt be supprised if it was sent back as faulty they would value it less than £200...
a 7950 or 7970 is fine

EDIT: Checked on the Bay and they are worth less than £180... So thats what would be expected price range for a replacement

I have a pair of XFX HD 5970s, new they were just over £500 each.

really? who would buy a pair of them for £360? foolish imo.

Also kaap why do u never sell up? Seems your sinking loads of money dude?

Using older stuff is fun when benching, its not always about having the newest and fastest. My HD 5970s actually got a lot of use over xmas, they are in a PC connected to my TV.
