Re-assembled my rig yesterday after killing my old board and when I ran Heaven benchmark noticed the scores weren't what they used to be. I tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers then downloading the latest but to no avail.
So then I had the crazy and desperate idea to reinstall Windows 7 but I didn't back up my Windows 8 installation first (which contained the full download of BF3 some 18GB) and once Win 7 was installed and drivers loaded still had below par Heaven scores.
So I restored Windows 8 from a backup (which didn't contain the 18GB BF3 download) and then tried to find out how to get the performance back. So I installed all the motherboard drivers but that had no effect.
Then I remembered that when I had these great benchmark scores I had set the Catalyst Control Centres AMD Overdrive - Power Control Settings to +20 from 0. As soon as I did this my Heaven benchmark performance was back where it should be.
Although now I have to download 18GB BF3 again! Grrr!
