Hello!!

I've had my iPhone 4 since launch and I had the 3g before that from launch and my wife has the iPhone 5 again from launch. I also have apple iPad, TV, Air etc etc so I'm an apple convert!

However, I am bored of my iPhone and my wifes 5 is very quick and light but its so alike my 4 I can't see the point of changing.

Now I love the look of the Note 2 but I'm yet to actually drag myself into a shop and try one out for size.

What are they like in your pocket? I have a Blackberry for work I keep in my shirt pocket and my iphone in my trousers, how well does the note 2 fit?

I take it apps like sky news, ebay, autotrader, sky+ remote app, hsbc balance etc are all available on android? The other thing I read and hear on the youtube reviews are android is so much more customisable? What sort of things can you do??

Thanks for any help with this I've liked the look of the Note 2 since I heard about it but leaving the apple ecosphere isn't easy when your used to photostream, airplay, imessage, face time etc!

Hello!!

1: What are they like in your pocket? I have a Blackberry for work I keep in my shirt pocket and my iphone in my trousers, how well does the note 2 fit?

3: Thanks for any help with this I've liked the look of the Note 2 since I heard about it but leaving the apple ecosphere isn't easy when your used to photostream, airplay, imessage, face time etc!

1: The Note II has no issues in my trouser or jeans pockets. I don't wear skinny jeans though. It's obvious that there's a phone in the pocket but it doesn't bulge or anything like you'd imagine when you look at the phone.

2: Yes such apps already exist on Android and in terms of customisation, you shouldn't ask what you can do, you should ask what you can't do out of the box :p

3: The Note II (and other Droids) have those features as well, they're named differently of course but they work well. My Note II beams video and images to any SmartTV that supports media/screen sharing abilities. Facetime is built into Google Talk and works very well.

If you do choose to get one then migrate all your contacts into a Gmail account and manage all your contacts via that. It's the best way to do it. Then, when you first sign into any Android phone you'll find all your contact data (including pictures) sync over the air.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

That all sounds good, now with this customisation where is bet to see whats possible? I've googled android and that site was rubbish. Any good ones to check out?

I need to get into a shop on Friday and try and have a play with the note!

It's difficult to show what you can customise until you've played around with a few stock Android phones first really otherwise all of it will look alien to you. I'd recommend go having an extended play first then check the phone desktops thread and see what people are tailoring on their phones from themes to icons to homescreen overhauls.

Most of our phones look nothing like they do out of the box here :)

The 'post you phone's desktop' thread on here would be a pretty good start.

Thanks I will get trawling through it!!!

EE do the Note 2 free with unlimited calls, texts and 500mb internet plus some wifi jaz for £36. Seems decent!

So no one struggles with the beast of a phone in their pocket?

Don't go with EE, they are a rip off and 3 are giving 4G at no extra cost later this year. Bypass EE and go with 3.

Some people will struggle with it in their pockets, I have a name for those people who wear "that" kind of jeanswear :p

Just make sure 3 have good service in your area first use their coverage map :)

500MB data is rubbish and you'll exceed that in no time at all so just avoid low data caps like that.

Had mine since the new year, its an awesome phone, one word to sum it up would be"powerful". It has more CPU power, and ram than my work computer. Plus I'm enjoying 2 days of battery.

The improved battery life will be good!

Phones 4 u seems to be a lot cheaper than going direct!!

I might give three a call and see if they can offer anything....

I still haven't tried one though haha...
