Ok, so I have bought 2 lovely new shirts today, after wearing polo shirts and other non formal wear for several years now. I have forgotten the correct care when it comes to washing shirts!

I proceeded to wash said 2 shirts, with other items, then put them into a tumble drier with said items.

One of the 2 shirts came out beyond crinkled, looked like it had been vacuum packed for 10 years, no matter how much I iron, with steam. Creases just keep coming back... It's a 100% cotton.

It looks beyond tacky! It wasn't cheap either...

What tricks can I do to get it nice again?

Non-iron shirts. Expensive formal shirts are usually a nightmare and crease at the drop of a hat. However I hang then dry then iron whilst still slightly damp if I can.

probably won't iron out whilst the shirt is dry, got one for work which is a pain to do as well and I tend to spray water on it before even attempting.

Never tumble dry them.. it's an hours work sorting that out :) Iron it straight out of the washing machine with the iron on a reasonably cool setting then hang dry.

1, Walk to the kitchen

2, Throw the shirt at the Mrs

3, Smack her on the arse while it's still draped across her head

4, Retreat back to watching the TV

Right, in to a hand wash setting both of them go!

Cheers guys, bloody shirts! Also, need to find how to do more than just your typical tie knot! I want to be looking at least a little bit respectable!

Take it to the dry cleaners

go back the next day.......hopefully they will have performed some kind of magic, if not dont pay them :)

Hmmm, still not perfect, not getting the 'smooth' flat surface, still raising and not 'ironed'!

Odd, will iron again in the morning once it's dried up properly and hope for the best. Think the lesson here is 1) get a Mrs or 1b) get a easy iron shirt!
