Oh Dear My Bad

I can confirm tommys tip does work, done it myself many times. It works with any origin game. Also 0.01% of the game is all you need, but lets not bicker about these fine percentages. :p

I have an older version of BF3 inside an image I created of the hard drive many months ago.

I guess there is no point me mounting the image and taking the BF3 folder out and transferring it to my PC as it will still need the massive 18GB download to the latest version?

I can install from the disk's, its about 12GB, the rest, about 5GB is all the updates since i bought it in December 2011 and will be downloaded.

Its better than having to DL all 18GB.

Without having Origin installed to start with, just put the disk in as normal, it will install Origin from the disk, then update it, then it will ask for the Game Key, then install the two disk's and then update the game...

Nothing ever works for you though to be fair. ;)

That is not fair, things do work, i cant say it enough, the problems i was having AMD new about read it up in the patch notes!

DX9 games texture flickering is NOW fixed, AMD even emailed me as i report like 10 games with the bugs lol and now everyone is fixed.

I got flamed coz some people didnt notice them, AMD noticed them so i wasnt talking ********, its all there for everyone to read :\

Relax old boy just pulling your plonker. :)

Ok thanks guys, I persisted with trying to install BF3 off the disc and got there in the end.

My problem was that origin wanted to download it and until I deleted the download from within origin it kept continuing to download it.

Now its installing off the disc at a much more respectable 4MB/S.

Won't be long until I am back playing BF3 thanks to you guys.

i let it install 5% and it never worked for me?

I have all my games on a separate partition but had changed the OS, Origin is pretty lame, Thought I won't be caught again so I had to re downloaded the game ! stopped it at 98% and backed it up.....then to find it stops at 100% and you can backup before installing.

Didn't think of the above method until after I realised the game is downloaded unpacked, so provided you set Origin to your preferences, or know where it's putting downloads, I can see this will work fine :) Great tip

weehamish, you needed to copy the game files to the download cache ;)

I downloaded twice now and saved the install file but it never saved, origin is truly a pile of ****e :\

Yeah I have BF3 on disc but origin forces you to download the latest up to date version so the disc is useless.

and as I am in the Channel Islands fibre optic has not passed my home yet but when it does I can look forward to this sort of speed..

The problem with that is the 50GB monthly cap.

At the speeds provided, you could use up your cap in 7 minutes!

I prefer the unlimited cap my ISP gives, even if it's only 1/20th the speed.

Also how can the power increase +20% increase your score? i use it when i overclock just to make it stable i thought thats what it was for!

I don't know, but before raising the power control to +20 my benchmark scores were significantly lower.

Try it with and without and you will see.
