Smart Casting do you do it and what is it ?
I heard it thrown around by some people !
Smart-casting circumvents the mouse press part of casting an ability. For example, normally you would press Q and then have a range circle appear around your character. You would then left click on an enemy to cast said ability. With smart-casting you simply press Q and the ability immediately gets used on the target underneath your mouse cursor, without you having to click or the range circle appearing.
Since you have one less key input it's required to use if you play in a med-high latency environment as it basically halves your ping as far as casting is concerned. Past that necessary use it's down to personal preference, I'd recommend sticking to the normal way while you learn all the cast ranges at least though (since you will never see the range circle again). You can always use Shift+QWER if you feel like smart-casting at any point anyway. Quite a lot of people, myself included, have switched these controls around and smart-casting is the default behavior of our QWERDF keys (having the Shift modifier used for the old way instead).
What about spectating, how exactly do you do it?
Right click on anyone in game on your friends list and you will be given an option to spectate them. Alternatively there is a ticker that scrolls through High Elo solo queue games on the front page of the client (if that sort of thing floats your boat).
Hope that helps
