*** League of Legends ***

I presume mobafire is really crap then ? I use lolpro most the time but wanted to see how people vary in what they do !

We spectated a couple of your games last night. I hope you don't mind.A couple of things that I hope will be helpful. Don't disrespect the towers :) a couple of times you just dived at the enemy champion on the tower. As soon as you do this the tower will attack you and the damage is exponential, so the first hit hurts a little bit, the second more and so forth. If the enemy has a stun really be careful on this as you will die. But yes if you push to the tower, then roam, go and help your other lanes, as mid you can be effective like this but understand the opponent's pushing - ie don't lose your tower by leaving. If you push to the tower, be cautious as its a ganking opportunity for the enemy, so either roam, go back or last hit but don't initiate.

Also make sure you use your champ to the max, I don't know alkali but I think you dashed in once to the tower but then didn't use your second or third which may have killed your opponent or more importantly got you out. How are you selecting qwer - left hand over the keys?

If you lose your Health or mana don't hang around, it is better to go back and gain health rather than be denied by the enemy champ.

At your level you will gain from the meta - that is generally a bruiser top, a jungler, a ranged ad bottom and a support, with an ap mid. The lower the elo the better a sustain support is - taric is generally very good as he is quite tanky and his stun is almost spam able. I tend to build stun, then try and max the shatter for the extra armour and ability to shred armour.

Jock on your side, good farm, you possibly could have got some more kills, you just seemed to hang back. Big tip, don't be tardy with your gold. I think you went back first after 2500 gold and then still had 1200 gold when you went back to the lane. Don't do that - you lose an advantage by not using the gold and also if you take too long and let the your opponent go back his items will strengthen him.

One which takes time is understand what your opponent means - so darius, scary Champ - you can't go in on him with low health - as you found he does quite significant true damage :(

The other one is more a team one, the teams just stayed in lane pretty much to the inhibs, you need to take a call when laning phase is over and group up and push your lanes as a team. Sometimes (rarely) we lose the laning phase but our team fighting is better and we then pull the game back.

Please note the above are not prescriptive and you're quite welcome to ignore them :)

Out if interest what champs do you like playing?

That explains the skill use, I would have been exactly the same :) the other stuff is hopefully helpful, once you get to play more games with the mumble guys hopefully it will also help. Did bring back fond memories of pre meta games.

Yeah, its always useful to have sone advice from experienced guys.

I'm not really sure what i enjoy playing to be honest i'm trying to try every kind of champ but its difficult in solo que.

And yh i use my left hand for qwer i guess most people do, is there a better way ? And also what about smart casting ?

I do have the WoW Cataclysm gaming mouse with like 12 extra buttons but the damn thing don't work in LoL even if i make custom macros !

No the left hand is fine, most of us play like that.

The solo queue is tough, I don't like playing in it anymore. The last game you played - the other team played the meta - if I was you I'd have either insisted on playing in the same lane as jock or gone a support. Alkali isn't going to work with the ad as you will both be spreading the gold between you so watering down the ad and your potential damage.

Not sure if you were on VoIP but if not that would have helped you.

Otherwise, yes we are around and you'll see people requesting players in ocuk, unfortunately teams are in place so it will feel like you get the bread crumbs but stick with it real pain the game limits us to 5 or 10 players if we do 5v5's which can happen.

Thanks very much for the tips.

When technically is laning phase over? That just at the start of the game?

Still getting to grips with the terminology.

Also, since im mostly playing Master Yi atm, in terms of Meta where should i be going in terms of lane?

Probably to my detriment but in terms of the gold I had a build off of moba fire on my 2nd screen so was working fairly rigidly to that hence why so much was left, not quite enough for the next thing. One question in that regard. If say i want a weapon thats 1200 but its made up of smaller items, say one of which is 400. If i buy the smaller one does that price come off of the final item?

Last thing, how exactly do you spectate. I tried right clicking on someone in game but that doesnt seem to be it.

Thanks again.

Once you take your opponents tower - or to an extent if they take yours then you no longer need to camp the lane. It obviously depends on timings how the game is going etc but definitely you should be working as a team once the first towers are down as it's scary past the river :) If you are strong you may feel happy to keep pushing but an escape is always useful and team fights can become more decisive, so if the team have a fight and you are away from them with no opponent they can be weaker.

In terms of positioning, try other characters as well, sometimes just playing a character - even if you don't like him makes it easier to understand his strengths and weaknesses. He can be top, mid or jungle - don't tend to see him that much at the moment.

Master Yi was very OP before the patch but he's been nerfed hasn't he ?

I am kinda getting the hang of Akali just keep mixing but buttons at lol !

Yi is still viable and that happens a lot for new people. I remember I button mashed for a long while until I started to learn skill order mattered. Oh the days :).

On a side note anything else you need a hand with?

Smart Casting do you do it and what is it ?

I heard it thrown around by some people !

Yeah any advise regarding elise? she was on sale and I couldnt resist buying her :-(

She's very powerful in lane, you'll want early flat penetration items usually and you should generally try to abuse her lane presence as much as possible.

Even with her recent nerf she's still strong.

Please tell me she is still on sale.

I'll be annoyed if she isn't, been wanting to pick her up for top for a while but being stingy with my money atm!

This.

I go magic pen reds, pen quints, armour yellows, scaling MR blues.

Then go for haunting guise, magic pen boots, warmogs, Abbysel ceptor, rylas ceptor & a good armour item & upgrade haunting.

You will have good HP based damage, a reasonable-ish amount of HP & loads of health/armour & ok MR.

Pretty strong as a bruiser & great in lane.

Also wondering about this.

I do and not sure how to explain it but if your not using it you have to press your skill button and then click on the target to use it, but if your smart casting you simply hover over the target and press your skill and you do it, so can shave some time off of spell casts, takes a while to get used to but on certain champs getting that combo off 0.5 seconds faster can make all the difference.

It does take a while to get used to, and I messed up a lot at first with the range and stuff but overall I feel it helps me more than it hurts.

I only recently started using it (like past 2 months), been playing for 2 years and definitely find it helps, certain spells shouldn't be smart casted though, like Rumble's ultimate.
